Vanilla Mautic tools make it possible to validate a form’s input fields and show individual error messages if the value given is invalid. By default, error messages appear next to the invalid or unfilled fields. This may be satisfactory for a short form, but for a longer, scrollable form, an error message near the invalid/unfilled field may escape the user’s attention.
The ‘Form Validation Dialog’ plugin allows error messages to be displayed in a modal window.
When building the form, you can decide whether or not to use it.
When you submit a form, the form is validated. In addition to the error messages displayed next to the fields, a list of invalid or unfilled fields is displayed in a modal window with the error message associated with the field.
The appearance of the content of the displayed modal window can be customized by theme.
When using very long forms, an error message next to incorrectly filled fields can avoid the filler’s attention. In this case, the user can only perceive that pressing the submit button doesn’t have any effect. To avoid this situation, you may want to include a dialog box in the form that displays error messages that collects error messages during the form validation, and shows it to the user making it clear that the form was incorrectly filled out.
When filling out a form, you may want to draw the user’s attention to the invalid fields of the form.
